The Friday the 13th tattoo tradition began in the 1990s at the Warehouse Tattoo parlour in Dallas, Texas. Oliver Peck and his team began offering $13 tattoos (plus a lucky $7 tip) to turn a traditionally unlucky day into something special. Since then, tattoo studios worldwide have embraced this tradition, creating their own unique spin on this cultural phenomenon. Today, our Tattoo Studio in Lancashire is proud to uphold this longstanding tradition!
THE NUMBER 13 IN TATTOO CULTURE
The number 13 has deep roots in tattoo history:
- Traditional sailors believed 13 brought good luck, countering maritime superstitions
- Many classic American traditional designs incorporate the number
